Programmable Thermostat
A programmable thermostat allows you to better control the temperature settings in your home, and it’s one of the easiest ways to improve energy efficiency. All you have to do is have your programmable thermostat installed (it can be hardwired into your electricity or battery operated) and set your temperature preferences. What this means is that you can set your programmable thermostat to different temperatures depending on the time of the day.
What’s so great about that? Well, think about this—if everyone in your home is out of the house during the day at school or work, you can set the thermostat to automatically raise or lower the temperature during that time (depending on the season) so you don’t waste energy cooling or heating the house while no one is home.
